New USB Drivers On The Way?

Apple posted an update to their USB DDK. The DDK (driver development kit) allows companies such as Kensington or MacAlly to have their products function on Macs. The new version posted, 1.3a3, is purported to fix the sleep issue on the Lombard Powerbooks. There were many issues including certain peripherals simply refusing to work upon being plugged into the USB port. Others had problems in when waking up a Lombard and peripherals refusing to work. Readers noted that the ROM Update 1.6 fixed many USB issues, but not all. Hopefully this will be the last fix we'll need for awhile. If you have been having problems be sure to check the peripheral manufacturer's page frequently for updates to the drivers.
If you are a developer or peripheral maker and have looked at the new USB DDK, we'd appreciate impressions or comments at info@pbzone.com
