Not really on any news at all, Apple's stock, AAPL, closed at a 52 week high of 59 11/16ths points today. Volume was more than double the average as the stock gained 4 5/16 points today, a 7.79% increase. Perhaps most impressive is the below chart, showing Apple's gains throughout the day.

The NASDAQ has been down recently, but Apple has broken that trend will small gains recently. However, today the NASDAQ gained more than 70 points, a three percent gain, and Apple rode that wave to record levels. We can only hope Apple will keep these gains tomorrow, though profit-taking will certainly play a factor.
