Powerbook G3 Series I "Wallstreet" Specs

These are the exact technical specifications of your G3 Series portable computer. To understand the specs, you must first understand that there are two distinct different kinds of G3 Series, Main Street and Wallstreet (Their development codenames)The main street 'book is any powerbook with a 233 Mhz processor. The wall street 'books are the 250 and 292 MHz flavors. The 233 lacks a backside cache and PCI support in the right expansion bay. Main Street has a 66 MHz system bus while Wall Street has a 83 MHz bus. A S-Video out connector is only available on the 13.3" and 14.1" models. The lower PC Card slot in all models is Zoomed Video enabled.

  • 233-, 250-, or 292-MHz PowerPC G3 processor
  • 1MB backside level 2 cache on the 250- and 292-MHz processor modules; 125- or 146-MHz dedicated 64-bit backside bus
  • 66-(Main Street) or 83-MHz(Wall Street) system bus
  • Integrated floating-point unit and 64K on-chip level 1 cache (32K data and 32K instruction)
  • Two SO-DIMM slots support up to 192MB
  • 4MB of ROM
Storage
  • Internal 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB IDE hard disk drive
  • Two expansion bays for floppy disk drive, CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and third-party storage solutions
  • Removable 1.44MB floppy disk drive for use in expansion bay (Optional)
  • 20x-speed (maximum) CD-ROM drive for use in expansion bay
  • The DVD-ROM drive also reads CDs at a 12X speed.
