Apple Hires Mac Enthusiasts to Help at Sears
Yesterday we received the following email from MarketSource, the promotion company Apple hires for most events like the iMac Demo Days conducted this past year:
We are extremely excited to offer you an exciting new opportunity to work
with MarketSource and Apple Computer Inc. to help leverage a new retail
partnership with Sears. As you may be aware, there are Sears locations
throughout the United States. Apple Computer Inc. will be introducing the
iMac into Sears.
We are looking for enthusiastic Mac savvy people to detail the Sears stores.
Each store will need to be visited 1 time per week. Detailing should be
preformed Tuesday-Friday. In order to participate, please submit your
application via the web.
We have initiated a web-based application program so we may respond to you
quickly. The web-based programming will make your participation easier.
The web-based programming will:
Allow you to apply and download your assigned stores
Bulletin Board will update you daily on Apple information
Access your work schedule
Submit feedback forms electronically
If you are interested in participating in the Sears Program, simply visit
the Apple Sears Detailing Home Page and Apply.
http://apple.marketsource.com.
The email and the webpage linked above are pretty self explanatory. They'll pay you to drop by Sears once a week and perform the following duties:
- Demonstrate Product Features to Sales Associates and Consumers
- Replenish Merchandising Materials
- Ensure effective display and POP placement
- Monitor Product Inventory & Stock-Outs
- Install Product Demos
- Troubleshoot Non-Operational Demo Units in the field
- Report compliance via web-based reporting system
They'll pay you the following for each bracket of stores visited per week:
- 1-3 stores visited = $17/visit
- 4-7 stores visited = $18/visit
- 8 or more stores visited = $19/visit
This sounds like an interesting opportunity, paying Mac users for something most of us do for free. We've all stopped by CompUSA or our local shop and renamed the hard drive from 'kajdfkjf' to something appropriate, started up a few demos, and just generally made things look fresher in the Mac section. We've certainly signed up, have you?
