In the beginning, everyone who was anyone carried his PowerBook in a "wetsuit." The year was 1996 and your PowerBook 1400 was the envy of everyone because it was encased in a slim neoprene case that had to be imported from Japan.
Marware is bringing the wetsuit-style case to the mainstream and all comers can share in one of the coolest ways to carry your PowerBook. The design cannot be more simple: it's a slim case made of neoprene that encases your 17" PowerBook, providing total scratch protection and limited shock protection in the absolute minimum of space possible.\
The "Extreme" model of the SportFolio is designed especially for the 17" PowerBook G4. It includes plastic inserts on each side to provide additional impact protection and has one open flap on the front of the case and a slim zippered pocket along the backside of the case. Other than these two areas, there's little room to carry other accessories. You could probably fit an ethernet cable or two, a couple of CD-ROM jewel cases, and your PB's wall adapter comfortably, but not much else.
![]() The SportFolio Extreme is very flexible. It's designed to be used as a beefed up sleeve, a bit more than the other sleeves available from other companies. You can use it alone, or place it inside a larger bag. The bag comes with a very soft and comfortable neoprene shoulder pad on a thick strap. There's not much else to say about Marware's mainstream wetsuit for today's PowerBooks. It's a thick second skin for your PowerBook for those times when you're between jobsites and want a level of basic protection but not a bulky bag. It also adds so little bulk to the 17" PowerBook that it complements any larger bag as a first layer of protection on longer journeys. . |
