The PowerBook Zone's Reader GiveAway Contest

Introduction and Instructions

The PowerBook Zone is sponsoring a Reader GiveAway contest for the next week, until midnight CST on Monday, April 9th.

The rules are simple. All you need to qualify is an email address. There are no other qualifying requirements. We also ask for your first and last name along with a simple question about how you found out about our website.

Of course, enter only once (we'll be checking and disqualifying multiple entries), and people related to PBZone.com, its parent organization etc. are ineligible.

On April 9th, we'll select and notify the winners via email. You must email us back with your street address so we can inform the generous resellers who have agreed to participate where to ship your prize. You will not have to pay for any part of your prize.

There are currently 35 seperate prizes and we're working with more companies to add more, so you have a pretty good chance of scoring some loot. If you're a reseller interested in adding a prize to our Give Away, please email info@pbzone.com.

Lastly, we'd like to thank the kind and generous members of the Mac community that have donated prizes for the contest. When considering your next Mac hardware or software purchase, keep these guys in mind.

The Loot:

FireWire Depot-One FireWire PC Card and one FireWire enclosure

FireWire Depot's prize package includes a PC Card FireWire adapter and a 2.5" external FireWire enclosure to go along with it. The PC Card adds a single FireWire port to any CardBus-enabled PowerBook and the enclosure allows any 2.5" (9 or 12.5 mm) disk drive to be attached to any FireWire-equipped Macintosh.

MacSpeech-Five copies of iListen 1.0

MacSpeech's iListen provides voice dictation, editing, formatting, and simple speech navigation in any Macintosh application. Just add a headset to your Macintosh and you're ready to begin telling your Mac what to do.

MadsonLine-Three MicroAdapters and Three Auto/Air Adapters

MadsonLine produces many accessories for your PowerBook, specializing in power supply replacements and enhancements. The MicroAdapter is billed as the world's smallest PowerBook AC adapter. Roughly the size of a cr edit card, it's by far smaller than Apple's "yo-yo" power adapter. Their Auto/Air adapter allows you to use your PowerBook on the road or in the air, using the DC socket in your car or seat-back power supplies on airliners. These adapters fit every model of PowerBook from the 1400 to the FireWire G3 as well as the Duo PowerBooks. They have G4 models shipping soon, with details on their website.

Other World Computing-Five Laptop Screen Protectors

Made of thin, black cowhide, the Laptop Screen Protector is designed to protect your LCD screen from keyboard marks caused by finger oil on the keys rubbing off on the screen when your PowerBook is closed.

PowerBook Parts-$50 Off Any Merchandise/Repair

PBParts.com offers cables, electronics, accessories, case parts, and LCD screens to help you complete a repair to any of the recent PowerBook models, from the WallStreet to Pismo. They also offer their own repair service if you're interested in having them do it for you. Hard drive upgrades, screen hinge replacements, and other services are available. The prize is $50 off to be applied to any product or service the site offers.

Road Tools-15 Podium CoolPads

The Podium CoolPad and original CoolPad are designed to keep your PowerBook cool through the simple principle of creating a better surface for natural convention cooling to occur. The new Podium CoolPad costs $29.95 and is guaranteed for life. It swivels 360 degrees and also tilts the keyboard for ergonomic adjustability.

Spire-One Zoom Backpack

Based in Boulder, Colorado, Spire makes high-quality bags and packs for your personal techno goodies. Their Zoom backpack is one of their hottest models. It fits all PowerBooks, including the extra-wide PowerBook G4.

The PowerBook Zone-One FireBox 2500 2.5" FireWire Hard Disk Enclosure

We've just received 70 of these enclosures directly from Taiwan. It allows you to connect a 2.5" IDE hard drive (up to 17 mm) to your Macintosh through FireWire. Simply put the drive in the enclosure and connect it to your Macintosh. If you're interested in one of these, check out our enclosure page.

Entry Form

First, an important word about privacy. We are only gathering your email address so we can notify winners, that's why you're asked to validate your email address; we won't be able to award prizes to people we can't reach. The email addresses collected will absolutely not be sold, rented, or used for any purposes other than notifying winners. The last question is just out of our own curiosity. Good luck!

Every field is required.
