New Booq Product: The Folee

After our article last week on the unique packs for your PowerBook from Booq, they've sent an announcement of their newest product:

Since your article about our BooqPaq2 on the Powerbook Zone has generated some interest in our products, we thought you may want to know about the latest addition to our line-up, the innovative Folee Messenger Bag.

The Folee Messenger Bag is ideal for the Powerbook G4 and all iBooks, since it features a fully adjustable padded laptop compartment in a sleek design. The bag is nothing short of a major design revolution, combining solid laptop protection and full adjustability into a cool messenger-style bag that offers plenty of storage options for Apple accessories (iPod), Palm and lots of other techie stuff. It even has room for both Powerbook and iBook.

Please feel free to check out the product on our site at http://www.booqbags.com/folee.html.

iBook Sighting

Reader "Spartan" shares:

Now, I know this is a PowerBook website, and sightings of computers on TV should be PowerBooks. I've seen the ones on the show "V.I.P" with Pamela Anderson and crew.

Today, flipping through the channels, something caught my eye so I went back to find the channel; it was the blue Apple logo on a laptop. The show was "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" on reruns on FX. Now, what caught my attention is that this laptop was definitely an iBook computer, except the Apple logo was illuminated!!

I know they don't make iBooks with lighted up logos. Or do they?

And no, it wasn't a PowerBook G4 because it had that characteristic hinge that an iBook has.

It's a Power-iBook!!

Limited Edition iPod Stand Announced

DVForge sent this press release to us:

DVForge today announces the release of the limited edition DVBaseLtd iPod desk stand. The first shipments of the 1000 piece production run will begin on December 13th, 2002, with orders being shipped on a first-come, first-served basis.

Each DVBaseLtd is individually CNC machined from a solid cube of T6 aircraft grade aluminum, and is then hand-polished, bright nickel plated, and laser marked with a unique serial number from 0001 to 1000. Crafted to perfectly complement the style and appearance of the Apple iPod, the DVBaseLtd has already enjoyed a strong early reception by the Mac and iPod press.

The DVBaseLtd has been selected by MacNET Media as the 2002 Editor's Choice in its popular Christmas Gift Guide, and is recommended as the most desirable Apple-related Christmas gift in the world for this year. A current review on iPod-Zone.com has this to say: "If you care about elegance, the DVbaseLtd is for you."

The DVBaseLtd can be seen at the DVForge web site ( http://www.dvforge.com ), or at any DVForge Authorized Reseller, worldwide.

SuperDrive Compatible with Earlier PowerBook G4s

While we're hesitant to link a rumors site, this is a more general news item over at Think Secret. It appears that the SuperDrive in the new PowerBook G4 will fit perfectly into earlier iterations of the PowerBook G4. It's unlikely that it'd be easy to find just the drive mechanism at this time, so older owners are out of luck for easy upgrades to SuperDrive right now.
