PB Sighting

Reader Stephen writes:

Was watching the Nov 24 episode of the Soprano's and was thrilled to see Tony Soprano's sister using a Pismo. However, when they changed the camera shot to the computer's screen, IT WAS WINDOZE!!!!! What a faux pas.

Red Dye #3 Introduces iPod, PowerBook Stands

Creatively named Red Dye #3 has introduced a new desktop accessory line called 'Metal Gear' that includes a stand for Apple's iPod and PowerBook:

WICHITA, Kan, --11/25/02-- New Metal Gear products add style and function to Apple PowerBook and iPod users. Metal Gear brings a consistent look and tremendous durability to the business or home office. It also provides a basis to build an organized, technology-based office.

Featured in the Metal Gear line are a PowerBook Computer Stand and Apple iPod Stand. Each product is finished in a medium gray color that blends well with computing and office equipment, and provides a consistent appearance. It offers security and durability beyond that of products made of lesser materials.

The PowerBook Computer Stand not only elevates the 'Book to eye level, but also adjusts forward and back. A mid shelf provides room for small peripherals. The lower shelf keeps the keyboard stowed away when not in use. This is one of the few stands that can be trusted to support a valuable PowerBook computer.

The Apple iPod Stand keeps the best selling MP3 player secure on both the desktop as well as in an automobile. A base bracket retains the stand on the desktop. When slid from the bracket, the bottom of the holder is shaped to fit a standard cupholder. An angle adjustment makes the iPod useful in varying lighting conditions.

There are a selection of CD/DVD Storage Bins that clean up those loose discs piled on the desktop. These Bins fasten together to build a coordinated media center. A Media Spindle places blank recordable discs within easy reach and eliminates the unattractive plastic spindles often found cluttering work spaces. The Data Garage offers storage for those desktop items that clutter work surfaces. Ideal for computer users who have a collection of USB and/or FireWire devices residing on the desktop. Simply store peripherals inside and close the door to hide them from view.

Where To Buy Red Dye #3 products can be found at dealers and online retailers nationwide including Small Dog Electronics <www.smalldog.com> and TechnoWarehouse <www.TechnoWarehousellc.com>.

We checked on the prices at Small Dog (search for "metal gear" to find these items and the rest of their line) and found $109 for the PowerBook stand and $59 for the car iPod stand.

Links from Around the Web

It's looking like a slow news day so far, so here are some interesting links from around the web. First up we have an amusing interview with Apple's Switch star, Ellen Feiss. Next, we have an encouraging review of the new PowerBook G4 1 GHz at MacUser. Lastly, there's news from Blizzard that a demo of WarCraft III should be coming real soon, with new single and multiplayer maps that can be used with the full game.

There will be a second update later today if there are any breaking stories.
