Mobile PowerBook Mount Responses

A few readers sent in their suggestions on how to mount a PowerBook in a vehicle:

Delorme.com sells one.

May need to shorten the legs, but one of those breakfast in bed trays resting on the seat or the armrests of the captainıs chair works well (Check out Linens and Things or Bed, Bath & Beyond for the trays) If you apply cork tiles to the top surface it will be less slippery. If you have you have the captainıs chairs, think about picking up some velcro cable straps at Home Depot or Loweıs when you pick up the cork tiles. Attach them to the bottom of the tray and wrap the straps around the armrests to secure the tray.

I saw something similar to a breakfast lap tray at MicroCenter two weeks ago for about $60 made from plastic with little pouches to store cables and such. Fancier and more expensive. Sorry, I do not remember the name of the device.

Tropical Storm Bears Down on PBZ HQ

Tropical Storm Isidore is not likely to be much of a problem for us, even if it does strengthen to hurricane status. However, we could lose power, so updates will be handled by others later in the week if that occurs.

Laptop Car Mount Suggestions?

Todd Kelly writes:

I'm writing to ask you and the readers about laptop mounts for cars. I have a PB G3 with DVD that I love using in my mini-van for my son on long trips, but wanted to find a better way to mount it (having it balanced between the edges of the two front seats certainly isn't a good idea). I've seen several auto mounting systems and desks, but they all seem to cost $200 or more. Any ideas on a more reasonably priced option? I'd prefer a no-drill solution, as I'm not keen on putting 4 holes in the floorboard of my brand new Mazda ;)

Any help that you can provide is appreciated. Thanks!

If you've got suggestions, send them in here.
