Apple Updates AirPort Base Station Firmware

This firmware update is only for the newer snow colored base stations, not the older graphite ones. Changes in this update include Rendezvous support for users of 10.2, now compatible when using private 10.0.0.x or 10.0.1.x addresses in bridge mode, and the AirPort Admin Utility has improved scanning for base stations. For more information on this update or to download the updater, check out this page.

Pioneer Working on Notebook DVD Burner

News.com is reporting that Pioneer is expecting to release a DVD burner in the fourth quarter. This unit will write and re-write DVDs at 2x and write and re-write CDs at 16x/10x. With Apple's current relationship with Pioneer, this could be the first step towards SuperDrives in PowerBooks.
